Hurtado Furniture was founded on 1940 in Valencia
(Spain), by the father of the current president & CEO, Francisco
Hurtado.
Since 1960, Mr. Hurtado has led the company to become a recognized
international leader in fine furniture manufacturing. Today, the line
of products of Hurtado is sold in more than 50 countries around the
globe, from Asia to the Middle East and Europe to North and South
America.
Hurtado Furniture is crafted from the highest quality
hardwoods and the finest veneers in the world by the most skilled
team of craftsmen in Spain.
Our collections are inspired by some of the world’s most renowned
historical styles, and adapted to meet the needs of today´s
consumer. Each collection has its own personality and features a unique
styling statement.
Hurtado offers furniture for the entire home, ranging
from fresh interpretations of the classical, through to current contemporary.
The company objective is to constantly improve through the use of
innovation in designs and quality materials.
The designs are an adaptation of classical perspectives refined and
varied to meet the needs of today’s consumers. We consider them
to be the classics of the XXI century.
Hurtado continues to be a privately held, family
owned company, with the second and third generation working in Spain
and the USA, along with a team of highly qualified professionals,
to assure the successful growth of Hurtado.
1997, Spain Hurtado became the first manufacturer
of classic furniture in obtaining the ISO 9000 certification, that
recognizes achievement and maintenance of the highest levels of manufacturing
quality, customer service and distribution.
In 1994 Hurtado opens its first American headquarters
with a showroom in the DCOTA – Design Centre of the Americas
– in Dania Beach (Miami), Florida. Under the
direction of Ana Hurtado, one of Mr. Hurtado’s daughters. The
company began developing new dimensions, finishes and marketing to
compete more effectively in the large U.S. market.
In 1995, Hurtado opens in Bogotá,
Colombia a showroom, offices and warehouse to serve the growing Colombian
consumer demand for fine furniture.
In 2000, Hurtado moves its US headquarters from
Miami to High Point, North Carolina. Recognized as
“The Furniture Capital of the World Opening a 1700m2 (18000
sf) showroom and offices, as well as a distribution centre. In addition
Hurtado hired a complete American staff, with the
sole purpose of providing the best service possible in this the single
largest furniture market in the world.
In 2001, Hurtado it starts up a new factory in Valencia,
Spain. The new production facility has 30.000 m2 (323.000 sf) of production
area, and the must advanced technology and management systems of production
and quality control. Hurtado combines more than 60
years of tradition to the constant innovation in product and process.
In 2002, Hurtado opens a new showroom in Miami's exclusive neighborhood:
Coral Gables. This new showroom helps Hurtado to supply the state of
Florida
and also to introduce its products in all central America countries. The
Coral Gables facility is a subsidiary of HURTADO USA, Inc.
In 2003. Hurtado acquires 100% of Bogota's (Colombia) joint venture, becoming the sale owner of HURTADO BOGOTA. Hurtado is the first Spanish
furniture manufacturer to open a showroom in south America and Colombia.
Currently, Hurtado is represented in over 50 countries,
in Asia, Middle East, Europe and the two Americas. Hurtado furniture
decorates houses and public buildings in all great cities, like New
York, Tokyo, Paris, Bombay, New Delhi, London, Moscow, Sydney, Madrid,
Beijing, etc.
